Rain, snow and ice reduce traction and make it hard to stay on the road:
1) Have good tires on your vehicle;
2) Slow your speed;
3) If you begin to lose control, release the brake and steer in the direction you want to go.
Understeering is when you turn the steering wheel, but the vehicle continues to go in a straight line.
Oversteering is when you are going too fast--often in a corner--or braking too hard. Release the brake and steer in the direction you want to go.
Never Give Up!
Loss of control of your vehicle is caused by overuse of the brake, the throttle, or the steering wheel. Release the brake or the throttle and steer in the direction you want to go, and often you will regain control of the vehicle.
All drivers that register their success with the 100K Campaign will be entered in a monthly draw for a $100 fuel card!
